A message from the wife...

I am the wife of the wonderful man who started this blog. I've never been much of a blogger, but since it's the new cool thing for youth pastors to have a blog, I am jumping on board too
so here goes nothin...,

Andy and I moved to Gainesville about 4 months ago, and not before that our lives had looked very different. Looking back, I realized that we were about to make some huge life changes, but no part of me understood what this would look like. Now we're living in a new town, with new jobs, a new marriage, and an additional member of our new family, Winefred, or "Winnie" Nelson (who is our lovely cat, most of the time.) A lot of days I wonder how we got here, but then through all the changes, the Lord teaches me new lessons every day.

Acts 17: 26-27 says, "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us." I know God has called Andy and I to Gainesville, Ga. and Westminster Church for a reason, and I just pray that we can serve him wholeheartedly through being a part of so many different lives. I love to think about this verse and how God has specifically designed this time for each of us to be a part of....now we just need to ask what we can do in it to make a radical difference for him!

Hey Wifey, that's so true that God has a plan for us all. Sometimes we may disagree and want to go our own way.Needless to say our way isnt always the way that we'll gain the greatest spiritual benefits. So we all just need to trust God (our greatest authority) And know he has the best plans for us all.

p.s. You and Andy are amazing

What a great post Emily! I think looking at things in retrospect is always a good reminder of how God really does plan for our present and our future! Those big changes don't always seem so big until you're in the middle of them and you're overwhelmed! I'm excited for all God will do in and through you guys in Gainesville. Can't wait to see you soon!

Winnie told me this morning that she is mad at you because you spelled her name wrong. She wanted me to tell you it is Winifred not Winefred.

You can let Winifred know that I am terribly sorry that I spelled her name wrong, but that she can't stay mad at me forever because I have the power to feed and water her, so ultimately, I am in control of her well-being and quality of life.
